“For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us” (Eph 2:14 NLT). Guest poet, Sylvia Miles shares her inspiring writing on how Jesus includes the excluded.  The author has written poetry for over 20 years. Her collection includes inspirational, love, humor, self motivational and children’s verses.

He Includes the Excluded

He includes the excluded, people like you and me

He includes us in His world, of spiritual ecstasy

He gives us so much power to tread down long, hard roads

To a destiny called His glory; where many stories do unfold

He includes the excluded, to those who don’t compare

To the high and mighty people, whose lives in all despair

The ones who are slighted, yet, only God can see

Yes, He includes the excluded; with an official decree

He includes the excluded, for those who don’t comply

Yet, God holds them dearly in His hands before the sky

To people under privileged, to those who do not know

Some tattered; some are torn, yet, destined to grow

He includes the excluded to carry His heavy cross

Dragged into captivity, the unloved and the lost

He builds those who were pushed away; with no hope to survive

By including the excluded; and again we shall rise

He includes the excluded; those who are left behind

Barred from everything, never good enough to shine

People who are peculiar; and ordinary too

He includes us in His world as our Father will surely do

He includes the excluded when people let us down

Replace laughter in our hearts; when others made us frown

The last shall be first and the first shall be last

When He includes the excluded we all will be steadfast
